Blood Dungeon Enemies & Bosses
Messhof counts over 100 enemy types. Nobody has published the full list, so this page does the thing that is actually checkable: how enemies behave relative to walls, when bosses arrive, and which named creatures show up in first-party material.
Bestiary checked:
Five rules that decide every fight
1. Bosses arrive every fourth wave
Waves are on a timer, and a boss lands on every fourth one. That gives each run a rhythm the game never announces: if your damage feels shaky at the end of wave three, wave four is about to prove it.

2. New waves do not clear the old ones
When the timer rolls over, the next wave spawns from a different enemy pool while everything from the previous pool is still alive. Pressure compounds rather than resets, so the window right after a wave starts is the one that decides whether the next one is survivable.

3. Every projectile passes through walls
Yours and theirs. There is no nook in any arena where you are geometrically safe. The flip side is that you can stand behind a wall and shoot melee-only enemies that have no answer.

4. Height is a real category
Enemies are small, medium or large, and that height decides which surfaces they can threaten. Combined with corridor size, it is what makes the choice of wall, ceiling or floor a decision rather than a preference.

5. Flashing enemies are a lottery, not a rescue
Elite enemies flash. Killing one can drop an upgrade, but it may just as easily leave coins or a large pool of blood. They are worth chasing once levelling slows down, but they are not a guaranteed way out of a bad build.

How enemies treat walls
Blood Dungeon lets you climb any surface with no stamina and no cooldown, so the interesting question is never "can I get there" but "what can reach me there". Enemies fall into four behaviours, and their height — small, medium or large — decides how much of a corridor they own.
| Behaviour | What it means for your position |
|---|---|
| Wall-clingers | Stick to a surface and can swap to another wall. |
| Wall-phasers | Pass straight through geometry. |
| Wall-shooters | Stay put and fire through walls at you. |
| Surface-bound | Restricted to the surface they spawned on. |
Named enemies
| Enemy | Behaviour | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Bats | Flap freely around the map, ignoring the platforming entirely. | Messhof demo announcement |
| Rats | Cling to walls. | Messhof demo announcement |
| Satyrs | Bounce about the arena. | Messhof demo announcement |
| Centaurs | Listed by Messhof among the enemy roster. | Steam store description |
| Exploding Eyeballs | Listed by Messhof among the enemy roster. | Steam store description |
| Spiders | Common enough that killing 50 of them is what unlocks Leggy. | Steam achievement "Leggy" |
| Zombies | Not a spawned enemy type — the Zombie Ring converts kills into zombies that fight for you. Having ten out at once unlocks Defibrillator. | Steam achievement "Defibrillator" |
Named bosses
Messhof has never published a boss list. These five are the ones named on screen — either on the boss bar in Messhof's own screenshots, or in the text of a Steam achievement.
| Boss | What is known | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Bone Snake | Killing it inside 30 seconds unlocks Slow Enemies — held by 75.3% of players, which makes it one of the earliest bosses. | Steam achievement "Slow Enemies" |
| Wyrm | Killing it inside 30 seconds unlocks the bunkmate Leech (72.8%). | Steam achievement "Leech" |
| Frogeus | Named on the boss bar in Messhof's own press-kit screenshot, during a wave 5 fight. | Messhof press kit |
| Gorgon | Named on the boss bar in a press-kit screenshot at wave 7, level 21. | Messhof press kit |
| Tigerus | Encountered on camera in post-launch footage after the Corridor. | Post-launch playthrough |
Each arena has its own first and final boss, and Boiler is the only one where a middle boss is documented — the arena page has the full chain with clear rates.
Arena hazards
- Spikes — Static arena hazard.
- Turrets — Fixed emplacements that shoot at you while you platform.
What is not on this page
Messhof has not published a bestiary, and no achievement enumerates enemy types. The 100+ figure is the developer's own; we can only name the ones above.
